Q: Where's it going?

A: To free

A while ago I read a book the book, 10 Rules for the New Economy by Kevin Kelly. One the ideas that he proposed is that things are going to free. For example a portable phone twenty five years ago cost thousands of dollars. Today you can get one for about twenty five bucks, or even less if you look around.

Another idea he has is that the Net rewards generosity.

This has been a month of extraordinary learning and changing awareness for me. Today I am up for trying out new ideas that previously I would have dismissed out of hand. Thus, I am going to follow Kelly's thinking and see where it goes.

So, click here to get the full, free version of Coding Slave, the Novel, in PDF format. Pass it around to your friends. Give it to your coworkers. Slide it under your boss's door.

The book is an important part of my life's work. It is an honor to share it with you all.

Feel free to write me at bob@CodingSlave.com, if any of you feel so motivated.

Very cool. Though I may have to just go buy the print version. Even with a Tablet PC, there's nothing like reading paper.

Bob,

This is a very generous gesture of you to do such a thing as give away your book for free.

I hope more and more people will take this opportunity to really think about some of the ideas and underlying suggestions you make in your book.

Let's get started people, before it's too late.

Fantastic Bob. I bought the print version which I'm still reading. Now I can give all my friends the same luxury that I've been enjoying these last couple days.

As a college student, I'm pretty thrilled to get anything for free...

Very cool. I purchased and read your book last year, and really enjoyed it. I think it's great that your offering it as a pdf, I think more authors should do the same. Many times I end up reading half of the text in the pdf/online, and purchasing the book anyway.

This makes me feel a lot less guilty for scanning the book and e-mailing it all over the internet.

Thanks Bob!... Your generous offer is very much appreciated. I will indeed print it out, bind, read and pass it on. Let me know if you see it making it's rounds.

You ever see that film called Pass it on??...(Unfortunately featuring that annoying little 'I see dead people' kid)...I wonder if you could have started another trend of contagious generosity. Lets hope!

The film is named "Pay It Forward," not "Pass It On."

Thanks for the free book, I was getting ready to buy it off of Amazon then noticed a link to it here. It's awesome that someone does that. And the things you've meantioned in the book are so real. For me, I work as a programmer in Tennessee making a whopping 7.25/hr. *shrug* Gotta start somewhere, though.
